The luxurious Arabella Hotel and Spa, located on the Championship golf course alongside the Bot River lagoon near Kleinmond, has finished the rejuvenation of its award-winning spa, which has reopened all facilities to GUESTS and visitors.

The second phase of the upgrade included work on the gym, treatment rooms, the African Rain Forest, hydro pool and steam room.

Earlier this year the hotel completed a R10m upgrade to it 18-hole Peter Matkovitch-designed golf course.  This investment and upgrade of the golf offering has already shown a return as earlier this year Arabella Golf Course was awarded number 1 status in the Western Cape and Top 5 in South Africa by Golf Digest.

Danny Bryer Director of Sales, Marketing and Revenue for African Pride Hotels, says the most extensive work was done in the spa, with only minor work done in the significantly upgraded gym that was refitted in phase one of the revamp.

“All 16 treatment rooms were given a makeover, but some of the biggest work was done in the African Rain Forest and the Rasul and steam rooms, which were completely retiled and the quartz carpets resurfaced,” says Bryer.

The Tepidarium has also been converted into a candle room and what used to be the candle room has been turned into four additional treatment rooms to accommodate the growing demand for spa services.

Phase one of the upgrade included the spa reception area, cloakrooms and gym. The size of the gym was increased, new floors were installed, new gym equipment was purchased and the cloakrooms were upgraded.

The Arabella Spa has been named Best Hotel Spa 2014 by Les Nouvelles Estetiques, a publication “dedicated to the up to date knowledge in the world of spas, well-being and beauty and encompasses all aspects of the spa industry: skincare, bodycare, nails, make-up, haircare, spa therapies and business management”.

Bryer says the completion of the renovation reinforces Arabella Hotel & Spa’s position as a leading spa and resort destination.

“Arabella is a unique destination. In its prime location in the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve means it offers something for everyone whether you’re visiting to enjoy the natural beauty, relaxing with a round of golf, spoiling yourself with a spa day, hosting a conference or even get married.

“We look forward to many more GUESTS coming to experience the hotel’s amazing new spa facilities.”
