FlySafair is to begin flights between Johannesburg and Cape Town and Cape Town and Port Elizabeth.
Ticket sales were due to open at the end of September and the carrier said its fares, from R499 and R399 respectively, including taxes, were not an opening special to get into the market but reflected continuing low fares in future.
Flights will initially be operated by two Boeing 737-400 aircraft and, although schedules had yet to be disclosed at the time of writing, FlySafair is expected to immediately start with multiple daily flights to get maximum aircraft utilization, essential for any airline but particularly a low-cost carrier.
