Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe is truly a country that can offer a diverse range of activities. From luxury vacations, safari experiences, history and culture tours to exploring unspoiled national parks, there is indeed something for everyone. No matter where you go, you will be constantly surrounded by warm and hospitable people, always wearing a smile and willing to lend a helping hand.

A must for any journey to Zimbabwe is Victoria Falls, better known locally as Mosi-o-Tunya, or “The Smoke That Thunders.” World renowned and a stunning source of natural power, the falls attract visitors in their millions every year. The Zambezi River thunders down the gorge for 108 metres. The width is about 1700 metres, which makes it one of the largest waterfalls in the world.

Many more highlights wait to be discovered in Zimbabwe. Must-visit attractions include the stunning Lake Kariba and Mana Pools, a floodplain wildlife conservation area on the lower Zambezi and a rich wildlife experience. Hwange National Park is home to over four-hundred bird species and one-hundred mammals, including the 'Big Five'. The park also boasts around thirty-thousand elephants, so you are unlikely to leave without seeing these gentle giants up close.

To the east of the country are the Vumba Mountains, filled with fresh streams, waterfalls and endemic flora and fauna. All these things combined plus many others unmentioned provide an authentic African experience like no other.

In the southeast you will find Great Zimbabwe, the ancient ruins which served as a royal palace for the Zimbabwean monarch. One of its most prominent features is the walls, some of which were over five metres high and which were constructed without mortar. Eventually the city was abandoned and fell into ruin.

A journey to Zimbabwe will leave the explorer satisfied with world-class facilities and encounters, with nature and friendly locals only found in the warm hospitality of Southern Africa.
