Pretoria, the city of Tshwane, serves as the executive and administrative capital of South Africa and is located in the province of Gauteng. It has a beauty and charm all of its own, and the slow pace of life is regarded as a bonus by its residents. It is popularly known as The Jacaranda City in spring and early summer, due to the thousands of Jacaranda trees planted in its streets, parks and gardens, painting the city with purple hues.

The Union Buildings form the official seat of the South African government and also house the offices of the President of South Africa.

The mammoth Voortrekker Monument was built in honour of our great pioneers, who left the Cape during the period 1835 to 1854 to cut through the interior of the country in what became known as the Great Trek.

Freedom Park is a 52 hectare space including various buildings, monuments and structures where South Africans and visitors can reflect on the past, and be inspired for the future. It is an ambitious heritage project aimed at encapsulating the heart and soul of South Africa in a physical space.
