Whale Route

The Cape Whale Route is a superb outdoor adventure family holiday destination. Incorporating towns such as Betty’s Bay, Kleinmond, Hermanus, Pringle Bay, Stanford and Gansbaai in the Western Cape, the route offers some of the best land-based whale-watching spots on the planet, as well as many activities for the whole family.

The Cape Whale Route gives travellers a massive amount of options when it comes to exploring the Western Cape beyond Cape Town. There is far more to this route than just whales, with enough variety to keep families occupied for a week or two at least. A variety of wine farms are also found on this route; be sure to enjoy the magnificent scenery while sipping on some of South Africa’s best wines.

Adventure activity options along the route include hiking, shark cage-diving, sea kayaking, quad biking, parasailing, and horse riding and, of course, whale-watching boat tours. There are also several golf courses along the way.
