Table Mountain

Table Mountain is South Africa’s signature landmark. Recently announced as one of the New 7 Natural Wonders of the World, it is a hiker’s paradise with numerous trails, breath-taking views and an abundance of rare indigenous flora and fauna. Table Mountain looks down on the City of Cape Town, with the highest peak measuring 1085m above sea level.

The Table Mountain National Park is a great destination for nature-lovers and is globally recognised for its biodiversity, and unique Cape Floral Kingdom. The Mountain trails on the summit are clearly marked and safe under foot. A variety of plant and animal life is discovered on the mountain including over 5000 x species of  fynbos and shy ‘dassies’ or rock hyrax.

Since its opening in 1929, over 20 x million people have taken the trip to the summit of the mountain. The 2 x cable cars are fitted with a revolving floor, allowing guests to enjoy a 360 degree view of Cape Town. From Table Mountain’s summit, you have a bird’s eye view of the Atlantic Seaboard, Table Bay Harbour, the West Coast, the Cape Winelands and a large part of Cape Town’s adjacent suburbs.
