Hluhluwe Game Reserve

The Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve, in the sub-tropical province of KwaZulu-Natal, is a safe haven for the endangered black and white rhino, along with the other members of the popular Big 5 including the lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo.

Through on-going rhino conservation, Hluhluwe-Umfolozi today houses white (square-lipped) and black (hook-lipped) rhino within its 96 000 hectare reserve, and remains the best reserve in South Africa in which to see the endangered rhino.

Discover unique photographic opportunities with the large array of resident animals including cheetah, hippo, hyena, jackal, giraffe and wild dog. Well-disguised viewing cabins overlook pans and waterholes where the birds and animals gather to drink, enabling you to encounter a variety of game at close range.

Sample the immense diversity of flora and fauna in this majestic reserve with 4x4 game drives or guided walks. Whatever your choice is - this particular South African wildlife experience is guaranteed to be memorable.
